Fighting the battle of type 2 diabetes: eating the right things

Today was a difficult day for choices. I am still eating close to 3000 calories per day.

Making good choices in food is definitely one of the keys to success in the battle against type 2 diabetes. I still believe that type 2 is a condition that can be reversed. I have seen too many cases of people reversing their diagnosis and I do believe I will be able to reverse mine, as well.

Today I did three videos. One is me trying my hand at cooking. The second and third are of my granddaughter and me taking a walk around the block.

I believe that exercise is one of the other major keys to success. I have not been consistent in exercising. I know that I can walk even if I can’t stand up to a full 90-day P-90X workout!

I hope you enjoy the three short videos below. Leave a comment and let me know what you think.

  1. Diabetes can be a hard fact when you first learn about it. I have a close relative that has it and when she first found out it was like the world ended. But you learn to live with it and if you are careful with your diet and overall way of life you can still have a very good living without it affecting you in your everyday activities. It just needs some extra work.

    1. You certainly have that right, Stratos, Diabetes can be hard to face when you first are diagnosed with the condition, but we do learn to adapt and find what we can and cannot do. The diet portion is key, absolutely!

  2. Oh, I didn’t realize that type 2 diabetes can in fact be reversed. I didn’t think that was possible at all. That is fantastic news for those who are struggling with type 2 diabetes. Yes, I totally agree that exercising is key in fighting off type 2 diabetes along with eating healthy food like vegetables, fruits, cereal, and so on.

    1. It is my understanding and belief that the condition can be reversed. Of course, we must continue to be vigilant, but I believe we can reverse it to the point that it can be wholly maintained by a healthy diet and exercise.

Eating a variety of foods mainly from the fruits and vegetable area is an ideal choice.
